1. About the Journal

The Transdisciplinary Journal of Economics and Business (TJEB) is an international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the School of Economics and Business, Mongolian University of Life Sciences. TJEB is dedicated to the dissemination of high-quality research in economics, business sciences, and their transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary intersections with other fields. The journal provides a platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and policy-makers to share original research that contributes to scientific knowledge, policy development, and practical applications.

TJEB operates a double-blind peer review process and follows internationally recognized standards in academic publishing, including principles of research integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct. The journal is fully open access, and all published articles are freely available to readers without subscription or access fees. TJEB does not charge any submission or publication fees to authors.

3. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

The Transdisciplinary Journal of Economics and Business (TJEB) publishes the following types of manuscripts:

1.     Research Articles

Full-length papers presenting original theoretical, empirical, or applied research. These articles should demonstrate a clear contribution to academic knowledge, policy, or practice and be grounded in rigorous methodology.

2.     Review Articles

Comprehensive and critical reviews of the literature on a specific topic. Review articles should synthesise existing research, identify gaps, and provide directions for future research.

 

3.     Short Communications / Letters

Brief reports, opinions, or scholarly communications addressing emerging issues, preliminary findings, or focused research contributions. These should be concise and clearly structured.

4.     Case Studies

Empirical analyses of specific cases, organizations, sectors, or policy interventions. Case studies should provide analytical insights and demonstrate relevance to economics, business, or related transdisciplinary contexts.

5.     Commentary and Perspectives

Scholarly discussions that provide critical insights, interpretations, or viewpoints on current issues, policies, or debates relevant to the journal’s scope.

6.     Methodological Papers

Papers that introduce, develop, or critically assess research methods, analytical frameworks, or tools relevant to economics, business sciences, or transdisciplinary research.

7.     Editorials

Editorial contributions are typically invited by the Editor-in-Chief or Editorial Board and address themes of interest to the journal or its readership.

8.     Book Reviews

Critical evaluations of recently published books relevant to the journal’s scope.

4. Submission and General Requirements

4.1. Submission Method

Manuscripts must be submitted by the corresponding author via the journal’s official submission channel. At present, submissions are accepted via email at: info.tjeb@muls.edu.mn.
The journal may introduce an online submission system in the future.

4.2. Required Submission Files

Authors must submit the following files:

·       Manuscript (in Microsoft Word format) 

·       Figures and tables (if not embedded in the manuscript) 

·       Completed Author Ethics, Consent, and Declarations Form 

All submitted materials must be complete and consistent with the journal’s formatting and policy requirements.

4.3. Corresponding Author Responsibilities

The corresponding author is responsible for:

·       ensuring that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript, 

·       managing all communication with the journal during submission, review, and publication, and 

·       ensuring compliance with the journal’s policies and submission requirements. 

4.4. Language Requirements

Manuscripts must be written in clear and grammatically correct English. Authors may use either British or American English, but the usage must be consistent throughout the manuscript.

Authors are responsible for the linguistic quality of their submission.

4.5. Originality and Submission Declaration

Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:

·       the work is original, 

·       all authors have approved the submission, and 

·       the manuscript complies with the journal’s ethical and policy requirements.

5. Ethical and Policy Requirements

Authors submitting to the Transdisciplinary Journal of Economics and Business (TJEB) are required to comply with the journal’s ethical standards, policies, and publication requirements. TJEB maintains a comprehensive set of policy documents governing publication ethics, authorship, research integrity, and related matters. Authors must ensure that their submission is consistent with these policies.

1.     Publication Ethics

All submissions must comply with the principles of ethical scholarly publishing, including integrity, transparency, and responsible research conduct. For full details, please refer to the journal’s Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement [7].

2.     Authorship and Contributorship

Authorship must accurately reflect individual contributions to the research and manuscript preparation. For detailed criteria and responsibilities, please refer to the Authorship and Contributorship Policy [8].

3.     Competing Interests / Conflict of Interest

All authors must disclose any financial or non-financial interests that could influence the research or its interpretation. For disclosure requirements, please refer to the Competing Interests / Conflict of Interest Policy [9].

4.     Research Ethics

Research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data must comply with applicable ethical standards and approval requirements. For detailed guidance, please refer to the Research Ethics / Ethical Oversight Policy [10].

5.     Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Authors must ensure that any use of artificial intelligence tools complies with the journal’s standards on transparency, responsibility, and authorship. For full requirements, please refer to the AI Use Policy for Authors and Reviewers [18].

6.     Data Availability and Reproducibility

Authors are expected to ensure transparency in data sources, methods, and reproducibility of results where applicable. For detailed requirements, please refer to the Data Availability and Reproducibility Policy [17].

7.     Copyright, Licensing, and Author Rights

Authors must comply with the journal’s policies on copyright ownership, licensing, and reuse of published content. For full details, please refer to the Copyright, Licensing, and Author Rights Policy [4].

8.     Author Declarations and Consent

Authors are required to submit a completed Author Ethics, Consent, and Declarations Form [14] as part of the submission process, confirming compliance with the journal’s policies.

 

6. Peer Review Process

All submissions to the Transdisciplinary Journal of Economics and Business (TJEB) undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential. Manuscripts are initially assessed by the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) for suitability in terms of scope, quality, and compliance with the journal’s requirements. Submissions that meet these criteria are sent to at least two independent reviewers for evaluation of their scientific quality, originality, and relevance. Based on the reviewers’ reports, the EIC makes the final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript. 7. Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts submitted to the Transdisciplinary Journal of Economics and Business (TJEB) must be prepared in Microsoft Wordformat. The manuscript must be written in clear, grammatically correct English. Authors are encouraged to use British English and to apply it consistently throughout the manuscript. Authors are expected to prepare manuscripts in a clear and well-organised academic style. Authors should avoid unnecessary repetition, vague expression, unsupported claims, and excessive grammatical or typographical errors. The journal reserves the right to decline manuscripts that do not meet minimum standards of language quality and scholarly presentation. 9. Formatting Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to the Transdisciplinary Journal of Economics and Business (TJEB) must follow the formatting requirements below.

1.     File formatThe manuscript must be prepared and submitted in Microsoft Word format.

2.     Page layoutUse A4 page size with margins of 2.54 cm (1 inch) on the top, bottom, left, and right sides. The manuscript should be prepared in a single-column layout.

3.     Font and font sizeUse Cambria throughout the manuscript. Font size should be 11pt.

4.     Line spacing and alignmentThe text must be justified. Paragraph formatting should be set to Multiple line spacing at 1.15, with 0 pt spacing before and 6 pt spacing after. Automatic hyphenation must be turned off.

5.     Page numberingAll pages should be numbered consecutively, with page numbers placed in the footer and centred at the bottom of the page, using the same font and font size as the main text 

6.     Section headings and numberingMain sections and subsections should be clearly distinguished and numbered consistently where applicable. The abstract should not be numbered.

7.     Italics, bold, subscripts, and superscriptsUse bold, italics, subscripts, and superscripts only where necessary and consistently throughout the manuscript.

8.     Language and character consistencyAuthors should use consistent spelling, punctuation, capitalisation, and notation throughout the manuscript.

 

10. Figures, Tables, and Equations

Figures, tables, and equations must be clear, accurate, and presented in a form suitable for publication. They should be used only where they improve the clarity of the manuscript and should not duplicate information already adequately presented in the text.

1.     General requirements

·       All figures, tables, and equations must be cited in the text and numbered consecutively in the order in which they appear.

·       Each figure and table must have a brief, informative caption placed above it.

·       The source and any notes must be placed below the figure or table.

·       Captions and notes should be concise but sufficiently informative to allow the figure or table to be understood without unnecessary reference to the main text. 

·       The source of each figure or table must be stated or cited appropriately. If a figure or table is developed by the author(s), this should be indicated as Source: Author(s).

·       All tables and figures must be included in the manuscript file. If necessary, TJEB may request some or all of them as separate files.

·       All symbols, abbreviations, and units used in figures, tables, and equations must be clearly explained.

·       All text, labels, and symbols within figures and tables must be clear, readable, and consistent.

·       Authors should ensure consistency in style, terminology, notation, and formatting throughout the manuscript.

·       Where applicable, reproduced or adapted material must be properly acknowledged or cited. Requirements relating to permission and reuse of third-party material are set out in the Copyright, Licensing, and Author Rights Policy [4].

2.     Figures

·       Figures include graphs, charts, diagrams, maps, photographs, and other visual illustrations.

·       Figures must be clear, legible, and of publication quality.

·       Authors should keep text within figures as limited as possible and explain all abbreviations and symbols in the caption or note.

·       Colour figures should be designed so that differences remain distinguishable when printed or viewed in greyscale (e.g., by using different line styles, patterns, or markers).

3.     Tables

·       Tables must be prepared as editable text and not as images.

·       Tables should be kept as simple as possible and should not duplicate information already presented in the text or figures.

·       Vertical lines should not be used in tables. Shading should be applied sparingly and only where it improves readability or clarity.

·       Each column must have a clear heading. Row labels should also be clear and concise.

4.     Equations

·       Equations must be prepared as editable text and not as images.

·       Simple expressions should be included in the running text where possible.

·       Displayed equations should be used only where necessary for clarity.

·       Variables should generally be presented in italics.

·       Equations referred to in the text must be numbered consecutively in parentheses, for example: (1), (2), (3).

·       Symbols and variables used in equations must be defined clearly either immediately after the equation or in the relevant text.

 

11. References

1.     Reference style

TJEB requires authors to use the APA 7th edition referencing style consistently throughout the manuscript for all in-text citations and reference list entries.

2.     In-text citation rules

Authors must ensure that all sources cited in the text are included in the reference list, and that all sources listed in the reference list are cited in the text. In-text citations must follow APA 7th edition style. Authors should ensure that author names, years, and citation details are accurate and consistent between the text and the reference list.

3.     Reference list

The reference list must appear at the end of the manuscript under the heading References. References must be prepared in APA 7th edition style and arranged alphabetically by the surname of the first author. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all bibliographic information is complete, accurate, and consistently formatted.

4.     DOI and persistent links

Where available, authors must provide the DOI for each reference. The DOI should be presented in standard URL format. If no DOI is available, authors may provide another stable and direct web link where appropriate. Authors should use working, clean, and persistent links wherever possible.

5.     Consistency and completeness

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all references are complete, accurate, and formatted consistently in accordance with APA 7th edition.

6.     Reference management software

Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote, Citavi, or other compatible tools to ensure consistency and accuracy in citation and referencing.

12. Submission Checklist

Before submitting a manuscript to TJEB, authors should ensure that:

·       The manuscript is complete and prepared in accordance with the journal’s formatting and structural requirements;

·       All figures, tables, and supplementary materials, where applicable, are included and properly prepared;

·       All in-text citations and reference list entries are complete, accurate, and consistent with APA 7th edition;

·       The manuscript complies with the journal’s ethical, authorship, data, AI, copyright, and other relevant policy requirements;

·       The completed Author Ethics, Consent, and Declarations Form is included;

·       All authors have approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to its submission;

·       The submission has not been published previously and is not under consideration elsewhere;

·       The corresponding author has ensured that all required files and information are ready for submission.
